This welcoming 3 bedroom family holiday cottage enjoys an excellent location as its situated within Milford on Sea, one of Hampshire's prettiest seaside towns.  If you are looking to holiday in the south coast of England close to the New Forest, then a stay at Windmill Cottage in Milford on Sea could be perfect for you.  Not only does this holiday home enjoy an excellent location for a coastal holiday, as well as days out in to the New Forest nearby, this sleeps 5 cottage is also very comfortable, homely, well maintained and has its own garage for parking.

This property is located in a residential road in the seaside village of Milford-on-Sea, which is mostly traffic-free.

Inside this cottage is homely and comfortable.  There are three comfy bedrooms; one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and one single bedroom.   This is a place where you and your family will be able to relax and unwind with its home from home feel. 

The lounge with its comfy seating, colour TV and DVD is a great place to take it easy and there is also a dining table in this room.  French doors lead out to the garden where there is outdoor seating and space for children to play in the garden. The galley kitchen has a microwave, an oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine that makes holiday self-catering simple and easy.

Close to Milford on Sea's shops and restaurants and the New Forest

Just a few minutes walk takes you from the cottage to Milford on Sea's High Street which has a good selection of shops, restaurants and bars. It is always interesting to browse shops in holiday destinations and convenient to have a supermarket close by when staying with the family in a holiday cottage.

Walk along the sea front and shingle beach on sunny days. The road and path leads on all the way to Hurst castle, the lighthouse and past Keyhaven Lake where there is boating.

Milford-on-Sea is backed by the lovely expanse of the New Forest national park. Lots of people hire bicycles and explore the area by bike. There are wild ponies to encounter walking along the main roads of villages in the New Forest, as well as delightful tea rooms to discover and welcoming country pubs.  

Come for a week’s holiday

The cottage is in a very popular area, so do book any weeks from April to October as far in advance as possible.  Short breaks are available in the low season, so do contact us if you would like to come for a cycling holiday in November or for a pre-Christmas break. The weather can remain mild for a long-time on the south coast and people have had amazingly good holidays during the winter when there are fewer tourists about.

The beach and the New Forest are the focal points of a holiday in Milford-on-Sea. Hurst Castle along the coast is a great place to watch yacht racing. It's worth visiting for bird watching, also family events such as treasure hunts over Easter. Smugglers week during the Bank Holiday at the end of May is fun for young children. Cycle or walk along the promenade.

Recommended Places to Visit: A holiday on the south coast of England offers endless possibilities for days out. There is much to see locally but if you fancy day trips away, you could visit Bournemouth which is 16 miles west, take the ferry from Lymington to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight, explore castles, museums and nature reserves. Winchester is a good place to visit from the 20th of November intil the 22nd of December. There is a Christmas Market beside the cathedral, an outdoor ice rink and a lantern parade at the end of November.

Recommended Places to Eat Out: Local pubs, tea shops, takeaways and a range of eateries in Milford-on-Sea. The Smugglers Inn hosts a quiz night on Wednesdays, the Gun has jamming sessions on Thursdays.
