- Welcome goodies include a freshly baked home-made Victoria sponge cake, a pack of our own sausages and a pot of home-made jam or marmalade along with tea, coffee, sugar and milk.

Children are very welcome here at Windover Farm Cottage and to help you we provide by arrangement if you need them, a high chair, stair gate and travel cot as. Also available by arrangement should you require them are changing mats, a steriliser, a 3-wheel pushchair and baskets of toys, games, books and DVDs to suit children of different ages.

Enjoy the comfort of sumptuous Egyptian cotton bed linen, all-seasons duvets and quality mattresses for a good nights sleep.

Fluffy white hand, bath towels and bath sheets are available for your use. You will find these folded in the airing cupboard ready for you to use.

All electricity is included in the price.

The oil fired central heating is there for your warmth and comfort.

For your entertainment during your stay there is a digital TV (with built-in freeview), a DVD player, HiFi system and CD player/radio. There is also a CD and DVD library for your use.

A free starter pack of kindling and logs for your stay are provided. The firewood is sourced locally from sustainable woods.

Get in touch with us and order one of the hampers made up from local foods and produce or vegetable box and this can be delivered ready for your stay.

For your convenience why not make an on-line supermarket order to be delivered between 10am and 12 noon on your arrival day. That way your shopping will then be unpacked ready for your stay.

Windover Farm Cottage is part of a 15 acre farm so during your stay you can enjoy meeting the rare breed Gloucester Old Spot pigs, the various breeds of hens and the geese and ducks.

If you need extra storage for bikes, push chairs etc, there is The Old Dairy which also houses a variety of outdoor play equipment including a sand pit, ride-on toys for toddlers, bats and balls, cricket stumps and goal posts to keep the children amused.

Enjoy watching the variety of garden birds that are attracted by the peanut and mixed seed feeders, home-made fat balls and dried meal worms. Enjoy watching them from the kitchen or the garden. A easy to use bird identifying chart is available to help you get started. Look out for green woodpeckers, robins, long tailed tits and delightful gold finches.

In good weather enjoy relaxing on the sturdy hardwood garden chairs. There is also a table for eating al fresco and a BBQ which is available on request. Sit out and soak up the beautiful rural views.

Being within the Blackdown Hills AONB, this is a great area for walking and we have a full set of Ordnance Survey maps you can use during your stay.

The River Madford adjoins the farm and around this river you may be lucky enough to spot some wildlife. The rare species supported by the river include Kingfishers and water voles. Enjoy watching out for wildlife during the day or by night, sit on the patio and listen to the owls, the river gently flowing by or just sit out and watch the stars.

The cottage is within a Conservation Area and to boot is within the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The rural views are tremendous and the location itself gives a wonderful sense of space and freedom. Enjoy breathing in the fresh country air.

And in the garden ...there is a hen arc and 3 lovely hens (called Chocolate, Bridget & Copper). These lovely hens will keep you in fresh eggs during your stay.

25% of the hire charge is required to secure the booking. The remainder of the hire charge falls due two calendar months before your stay.
