There are various nearby attractions include several stately homes, the spa towns of Matlock and Buxton, the national stone centre, Ecclesbourne railway and locally Stoney wood with its acclaimed Star Disc.

Delightful gardens attract a large variety of birds squirrels and hedgehogs. Frogs toads newts and dragonflies make their home in and around the pond. Bats visit at dusk. There are several dens for children and a herb garden for guests use. Because the gardens are so large there is also room for extra guest to camp out is they wished as long as this is by prior arrangement.
