Wollaston is a friendly and charming village in Northamptonshire that is famed for its shoe industry, as Dr Martens boots are manufactured in this little settlement. With lots of local shops and pubs, four churches and a post office, Wollaston is great for a relaxing self-catering cottage holiday as you can feel like a local as you explore the village and its surroundings, including the town of Wellingborough which is just 2 miles away. Wollaston Museum is a great attraction to visit when staying here, and it can be found towards the northern end of the high street. This village museum has displays, photographs and artefacts on the history of Wollaston and is wonderful for if you like to soak up a bit of history when on holiday.
