Book a country cottage for an interesting holiday near Duffield in East Derbyshire. The town of Duffield stands surrounded by attractive countryside beside the River Derwent. A tributary, the Ecclesbourne, courses through the town and passes largely unnoticed below various bridges. Duffield is on a railway line which makes getting there a bit easier. For tourists to the town, the walk to the ruins of Duffield Castle provides something historical to look at and there is a golf course at the north end of town.

Any self-catering holiday can be enhanced by booking a cottage that has its own hot tub or games room. If you really want to push the boat out, look for holiday homes in Derbyshire that have a swimming pool.
