Draycott is a useful place to stay if you need to spend a few days, or more, in southeast Derbyshire. The village consists of mainly red brick housing that spreads out from the Derby Road high street. There are a few shops, a Victorian tea room, a decent bakery and a couple of pubs – all much appreciated by anyone enjoying a self-catering break. A table tennis centre on the main road could be somewhere to go for a bit of pleasurable exercise with the kids.
