country cottages to rent in KentSearching for a holiday rental in Broadstairs Kent or nearby? Any cottages and self-catering accommodation to rent in Broadstairs, Kent, will be displayed below.

Broadstairs is a seaside town in a sweep of resorts on the Kent coast in south east England. This area in the far east of Kent is called the Isle of Thanet. The area surrounding the beach is well developed, the sandy beach is backed by neat rows of colourful beach huts, a promenade, well maintained gardens and rows of restaurants and places to stay.

There is all the usual entertainment and facilities. There are shops and kisks selling everything from candy floss and ice creams to buckets, spades and inflatables. Broadstairs is very much the home of the English beach holiday and Viking Bay is recognised as one of Kent's best beaches.

There are lots of reasons to rent a cottage or holiday apartment for a week at Broadstairs. If you feel like a change there are several other seaside towns close by, cliffs for coastal walks, gardens and castles to visit and plenty of shopping. A self catering holiday in Broadstairs is recommended for families.

Broadstairs offers miles of sheltered sandy bays - perfect for families with children. The chalky cliffs north of Broadstairs afford views over the Thames estuary and Isle of Thanet. Broadstairs has strong associations with Charles Dickens. Dickens lived for a period in Broadstairs and wrote David Copperfield during his stay. Visitors to the town in June can enjoy a Dickens Festival with locals dressed in period costume. There are two Dickens museums to visit; Dickens House and Bleak House.

Other towns close to Broadstairs include Margate and Ramsgate. Popular places to visit are Canterbury for the cathedral and annual arts festival, Hewletts Wild Animal Park, Dover for day trips to France, Dover Castle and the White Cliffs Experience.
