A rural retreat like no other. We offer luxury accommodation with many unique features,  making your holiday one to be remembered and recommended to family and friends! Ground source heating and solar panels contribute to the 'green' environment. This holiday will remain as one of your most treasured memories.

Each Log Cabin and their surroundings  are   perfect for couples wanting that extra special "getaway from it all" feeling, and for parents who want to bring their chidren to the country where you can all walk along the stream through woodland, spot dragonflies, birds and flowers.  Whatever your holiday requirements, Dwr Y Felin Log Cabins is where you will find it all.

Unwind on the balcony with your breakfast surrounded by Welsh countryside and enjoy your barbecue outside on the veranda while the chidren play on the lawn. Pamper yourself in the steam sauna and hot tub and stroll around the beautiful woodland.  We feel you may never want to leave the comfort of your cabin, but if you want a taste of what Mid Wales has to offer, whether it's mountain biking, walking, fishing or golfing, it's all on your door step. If you prefer rallying quad biking, sailing or shooting it's all local. Explore sleepy market towns, get your feet to one of the highest mountains in Wales or splash in the sea at sunset, they are all a short drive away.

Our log cabins are called Ty Afal (Apple House), Ty Ceirios (Cherry House) and Ty Peren (Pear House).

About each self-catering Log Cabin:

• 1 large open plan en-suite bedroom upstairs
• 1 spacious en-suite bedroom downstairs
• 1 generous twin bedroom downstairs
• Steam sauna showers
• Fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher plus washer dryer
• 2 LCD flat screen TVs and DVD player.

Outside the Log Cabins:

• Upstairs verandah seating area with woodland views
• Hot tub
• Barbecue
• Patio area  with garden furniture
• Ample parking for 2 vehicles

Dwr Y Felin translates as The Mill Water. The stream runs through the land, under the stone bridge and meanders down to the village where it used to supply water for the Mill wheel. Only a five minute walk from your Cabin takes you into the center of Carno where you will find the local Spar shop selling newspapers/groceries plus locally sourced food, and the local tavern that serves freshly prepared meals on a daily basis both lunch time and evenings.

Your Log Cabin will be ready for your arrival at 4pm. You will find the beds made up, towels provided and a complimentary Welsh Welcome pack.

Our Cabins are built from sustainable sourced European yellow pine, and are carbon neutral, with the majority of work done by hand. You will never find two logs cut the same way in any room in any Cabin. All the trees required for the building of the three Cabins were cut during the winter time from the same part of the forest, and before the birds started to nest. This has also meant that the wood has all dried out at the same time.

The Cabins are all heated with a ground source system which extracts heat from the ground using a ‘ground loop' which supplies the under floor heating. Dwr Y Felin Log Cabins have been sited to take full advantage of the sunlight to heat the solar water heating system. The water is supplied by a bore hole which extracts water that fell over 300 years ago, ensuring it's purity and quality. You are welcome to take home with you a bottle of delicious spring water.

A Sewage Treatment System is installed which actively treats sewage without chemicals before safely discharging clean water to the stream complying with environmental regulations. As a matter of course, all lighting used within Dwr Y Felin are low energy light bulbs. Dwr Y Felin Cabins are actively looking at recycling facilities such as compost bins, recycling of glass/papers/cans on site.

There are many stunning walks for enthusiasts and novices alike,Cader Idris the second highest mountain in Wales and the Source of the Severn in the Hafren Forest near Llyn Clywedog, Llanidloes. Mid Wales is the perfect cycling destination for people of all ages and abilities. The Mawddach Estuary near Barmouth and for the more adventurous there are plenty of top quality mountain bike centres in Machynlleth and Coed Y Brenin. There is a choice of river, lake and sea fishing which makes Mid Wales an angler's dream. There are Golf Clubs in every town, Newtown, Welshpool etc and a Golf Driving Range in Caersws. The Mid Wales Shooting Centre which is one of the premier clay target facilities in the UK is also a 10 minute drive from your Cabin in Trefeglwys. Nant Yr Arian is a must for all those wishing to spend time with the graceful Red Kite. Whatever you want to do, you can do it all from your Dwr Y Felin Log Cabin however energetic or relaxing you want to be. Extensive supply of leaflets to be found in your Log Cabin.

Good places to visit: Center for Alternative Technology at Corris near Machynlleth where they aim to 'inspire, inform, and enable' people to live more sustainably. Corris Craft Center also well worth a visit. The Animalarium in the seaside town of Borth near to Aberystwyth. Machinations with play barn in Llanbrynmair. King Arthur's Labyrinth with underground boat ride in Corris near Machynlleth. Many coastal towns, Aberdyfi, Borth, Ynyslas, Tywyn to name but a few. Coed Y Dinas, Welshpool a great place for shopping, something for everyone! Machynlleth - the home town of Owain Glyndwr's Parliament. Llanidloes - an old market town with plenty of character.

Annual Events: Carno village Country Show 3rd Saturday in August. Llanidloes Fancy Dress every July. Farmers Markets held throughout the year in nearby villages.
