This Welsh country cottage sleeps up to 6 in 3 bedrooms.  Ger-y-Nant is located in the pretty village of Govilon and conveniently is just a few minutes walk from the local pub and shop.  In summer enjoy sitting out in the enclosed garden where you can appreciate the views towards Sugar Loaf Mountain.  The bedrooms here also enjoy wonderful views of Sugar Loaf Mountain.  If you enjoy walking you should enjoy the opportunites for canalside walks and mountain hikes nearby.  This comfortable cottage is just three miles from the market town of Abergavenny with its shops and tearooms.

The village of Govilon is in the lovely Usk Valley in south Wales, 5 miles west of Abergavenny. To the west extend the hills and spectacular scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park and to the east, the plains and farmlands of Monmouthshire. Govlon is a good base for walkers and ramblers. The long distance Usk Valley Walk offers 48 miles of beautiful countryside with wildlife to spot en-route. The South Wales Three Peaks trial passes through the village and s held each spring. Govilon is an outdoor enthusiasts paradise with a wide range of outdoor activities represented. The hills above Govilon offer pot holing through the limestone cave network. 

The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal passes Govilon. Colourful canal boats can be hired and the canal tow paths lend themselves to rambles with plenty of colour provided by narrow boats, ducks and geese. Provided a rod licence is purchased form Post Offices, there is coarse fishing on the canal. 

A self-catering holiday in Govilon would be perfect for a family with active youngsters who would relish the chance of trying canoeing, mountain biking, fishing and other sports. Rent a cottage and start planning all those outdoor activities.

The small village of Govilon has a shop and pub/restaurant. The area boasts walks through the Wye Valley, along the Brecon Canal. The picturesque market town of Abergavenny is only three miles away and has a castle with its own museum, churches, an indoor market hall, good shops, pubs and restaurants.
