A Welsh cottage getaway with period charm set in stunning countryside. Located in the village of Tanygrisiau, less than 2 miles from Blaenau Ffestiniog in North Wales, Glan-yr-Afon Cottage is an 18th Century, stone built cottage in a residential lane. The property is suitable for up to 4 people and has one double bedroom, one single with an additional pull out bed and a family bathroom. The accommodation also includes a well-equipped kitchen and an appealing sitting room with a dining area and a multi fuel stove. Just the place for a country cottage holiday with your nearest and dearest. This is a dog friendly cottage, lots of walks nearby. Outside the cottage a small enclosed courtyard with garden furniture provides a relaxing place to sit and unwind.
There is dedicated off-road parking for one car.
Positioned in the middle of the dramatic Snowdonia National Park and with stunning views, Glan-yr-Afon Cottage is a fabulous cottage in an excellent location.

The kitchen is fitted with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, refrigerator, washer/dryer, flat screen TV/DVD with Freesat, iPod dock with radio. Good selection of DVDs, books, games, puzzles and toys for children. Fuel, power and starter pack for multi-fuel stove included in the rent. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent. Complimentary bottle of wine provided.
There is private parking space for 1 car opposite cottage, additional parking on first come first served basis in allocated parking bay opposite cottage. Small enclosed rear courtyard with patio area and furniture. Enclosed front garden with bench. Two well behaved dogs welcome (please bring own dog beds and towels). Sorry, no smoking.
Pub 20 minutes' walk. Lakeside Cafe 3 minutes' walk. Shops and amenities 1.6 miles. Please Note: The arrival time at this property is 5pm, and guests are welcome to stay until 12 noon on departure day.

Tanygrisiau was famous for its slate mining, producing a high quality black slate that was used across the world. Its railway station is on the famous Ffestiniog Railway, a narrow gauge railway built to carry slate from the mines down to the sea at Porthmadog, today it is a renowned tourist attraction.
