Rural retreats cottages in Bala. Located in the heart of Snowdonia National Park, the market town of Bala is a popular tourist destination.
The town sits on the edge of the largest lake and you can hire boats and kayaks to explore its shore. The Bala Lake Railway runs steam locomotives on a narrow gauge track along the south eastern shore. Bala is recognised as a great base for walking, cycling, fishing and adventure activities. There’s plenty to see in the area from the gardens of Caerau Uchaf to the ruined Castell Carndochan near Dolhendre and the rural craft centre of Canolfan Cywain.
Locally there’s a 10-hole golf course at Penlan Clwe Golff Y Bala Golf Club, with great views of the surrounding mountains. Barmouth on the Cardigan Bay coast is an hour's drive away for a day at the seaside. We trust that you will enjoy your self-catering holiday in Bala.
