The cottage has efficient gas central heating throughout, additional heating from an open fire in the sitting room. Kitchen with an electric cooker, refrigerator, washing machine. TV. Fuel, power and peat for open fire included in the rent. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent. There is private parking space for 2 cars. Rear and front lawned area with seating. Sorry, no smoking and no pets. Shop 2 miles. Hotel with bar 5 miles. The Western Isles lie off the West Coast of the Scottish Highlands in the North of Scotland.  The Western Isles therefore enjoy a truly remote location.  A number of different islands make up the Western Isles and these include the Isle of Lewis and Harris (which together make up the largest island in the North of the Western Isles),  North Uist, South Uist, Benbecula, Barra and St Kilda (an uninhabited island).  For stunning scenery and to truly experience a remote part of Scotland, the Western Isles could be just what you are looking for.  Each island has its own unique charms and attractions.

Lochmaddy is a village on the island of North Uist, and is the main centre on the island. There are facilities including hotels with restaurants, a museum and arts centre, and the village is also the base for the ferry to Uig on the Isle of Skye. A wonderful base for the lovely scenery and tranquility of North Uist.
