In a fabulous remote six mile glen with a river running through it and surrounded by expansive views and Munros (mountains over 3000ft) all you might hear is the babble of the burns and the roar of the stags with the silent golden eagles soaring above. Paradise for walking, wildlife watching, fishing and deer stalking or exploring the Scottish Highlands or just relaxing away from it all. This is a unique experience of beautiful isolation and luxury in the wild. A very green experience - the luxury in this very remote place is supplied through renewable energy from a micro-hydro-electricity generator and there are full conventional backup systems too. The unassuming stone exterior blends in with the surrounding Munros but hides a stunning interior beautifully designed to be in sympathy with its origins and location and fully equipped for total comfort. Whilst Glenuaig Lodge looks like a wee cottage it is a large four bedroom house (one double, 3 twin and a double sofa bed in the second sitting room) with two sitting rooms, a dining room and a large kitchen, victorian style bathroom and a shower room plus ground floor WC. It is well equiped with dishwasher, washing mashine, dryer, drying room, microwave, three conventional ovens; TV, DVD, CD. It was originally designed for Victorian gentlemen and their servants to lodge whilst stalking on the remote hills of the Estate, long before the advent of 4x4s. In few places on earth will you feel so at peace with the natural world. 4x4 or hire of one essential. Discount car hire information available.

What others have said: Some recent visitors to Glenuaig wrote: "WE HAD A LOVELY TIME.… had afternoon tea and cake whilst watching a pair of Golden Eagles! The other days were spent walking. Our hobby is nature photography and the stunning surroundings gave us plenty of scope to work. We dined every evening in the big kitchen and then sat by the wood burning stove in the lounge…As regards the house, we only used half of the rooms, but it is lovely and very cosy." Those that stayed over Christmas wrote, "It was breath taking. The dogs loved it racing up the mountains....The walks were fantastic ... The pictures you sent really don't do it justice.... a little piece of heaven.....Would definitely like to come again". Others wrote, "It was a truly beautiful and magical place." And others, "… fantastic weekend at Glenuaig which was thoroughly enjoyed by all our party. It is hard to believe that such gems still exist."
The 11,500 acres Estate is ideal for Munro baggers, with 4 Munros on the estate and 8 others within 10 miles. There are Brown trout and sea trout and salmon on 3km of the River Carron and also trout in two lochs on the Estate. A boat is available by arrangement with the stalker. Plentiful stag and hind stalking with the Estate stalker is available in season. One hour's drive from Inverness; local shops are in the nearby village. Beaches and the West Coast of Scotland to explore are forty minutes away. And the Highlands are all around. This remote Lodge is a breathtakingly beautiful half hour drive down a track into the hills. A four wheel drive is essential, there is no off road driving nor is it a hilly road but the track is rough in parts and an ordinary car would more easily suffer damage to the undercarriage.
