(1 welcome) Situated in the rural hamlet of Lempitlaw, just five miles from Kelso in the Scottish Borders, The Barnekin is a semi-detached modern cottage in the croft style. The property is suitable for up to 5 people and has three bedrooms (one double, one twin and one single) and a family bathroom. The cottage also includes a well-equipped fitted kitchen and a cosy sitting room with a dining area and a wood burning stove. Budget conscious families will find that self-catering is the most cost effective way of taking the family on holiday. A large enclosed rear garden has south facing views across the local countryside, a children’s swing and is furnished for outdoor dining. There is off road parking for 3 cars. The Barnekin is a lovely family holiday cottage that is a perfect for discovering this historic region and the countryside that it contains, from the border towns to the magnificent scenery of the Northumberland coast, the Northumberland National Park and Kielder Forest Park there’s a wealth of leisure activities in all directions. The cottage has efficient gas central heating, additional heating from a woodburner in the sitting room. Electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine (in garage), dishwasher, colour TV with Freeview, DVD, CD player, books/games/DVDs. Fuel, power and starter pack of fuel for woodburner included in the rent. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent. Cot and highchair on request. There is private parking space for 3 cars inc. 1 garage space. Enclosed front garden overlooking village green and enclosed lawned rear garden with furniture, swing and far reaching views. One well behaved dog welcome at no charge, £20 pw charge for second dog. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 5 miles. Visitor attractions in the Borders of Scotland include Tweed Valley nature reserve where you can look out for ospreys and the Philiphaugh Salmon Viewing Centre where you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of salmon jumping in the river. Also within the Borders are plentiful opportunities for cycling, walking and enjoying the beautiful countryside.

Kelso is a Borders town with a town square and an array of Georgian buildings. The Borders offers superb walking and cycling on the coast or amongst the Border forests. The towns of Coldstream, Jedburgh, Kirk Yetholm and Wooler are just a short drive away.
