A stylish timber clad cottage in a seafront position beside the shore of Loch Fyne, a scenic sea loch on the west coast of Scotland, Tigh an Uillt offers light and airy living.   Contemporary furnishings, polished wood floors, open fire and large picture windows give the property a Scandinavian feel.   Panoramic views over the loch  and mountains beyond can be enjoyed from the lounge, front bedroom and garden.  The front bedroom has a superking bed and magnificent views over Loch Fyne.  The master bedroom has an en suite shower room.  Perfect Easter, Christmas or New Year Location.

Strachur is a small, peaceful village with grocery store, post office, tearoom, hotel with restaurant, pub and garage all within easy walking distance. Located just one hour drive from Glasgow, Tigh an Uillt is in an area of great natural beauty, of lochs, mountains, forests and seascapes, with plenty of wildlife.  We even have a red squirrel which visits our bird feeder. It is at the edge of Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park and close by Cowal Forest Park, and is an ideal hub for touring.

Inveraray is the nearest town and Oban, Glencoe, the scenic mid Argyll coastal routes, Kintyre Peninsula, and the Island of Bute, with its magnificent Mount Stuart House, are all within easy reach.  Castles, stately homes, beautiful gardens and many excellent restaurants are all within a short drive.  Outdoor pursuits including walking, cycling, sailing, golf, fishing and tennis are all to be found nearby. Cowalfest, an annual walking and arts festival is held in this area during October.

Spectacular scenery - Mountains, Lochs and Seascapes. Beside National Park and Forest Park. Castles, stately homes and gardens nearby Great for walking, outdoor pursuits and perfect hub for sightseeing. Wildlife includes red squirrels, seals, otters, deer, seabirds, and if you are lucky, dolphins and basking sharks. Good local pubs and restaurants. Garden with seating area and magnificent views.

Recommended Places to Visit: Visit scenic Inveraray with its castle, historic jail museum, whisky shop etc and have lunch at the George Hotel. En route to Inveraray is the Loch Fyne Oysters farm shop which sells good quality scottish produce and the acclaimed Fyne Ales microbrewery. Drive down the side of Loch Fyne to Portavadie and visit the Marina shop or restaurant, then either cross via the ferry to Tarbert, a small but lively harbour town with lots of restaurants on the other side of Loch Fyne, or drive to Tighnabruaich and visit the viewpoint overlooking the spectacular Kyles of Bute. Drive to Colintraive and cross by ferry to the Isle of Bute and visit magnificent Mount Stuart House. Rothesay on the Isle of Bute is a traditional seaside resort with a promenade and pier. There are several sandy beaches on the island and a golf course. Take the Circular tour to Oban via Inveraray and Loch Awe, returning via coastal route through Kilmelford, Crinan and Lochgilphead. Another circular route is to Glencoe via Inveraray and Loch Awe,or if you prefer via the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park returning via the coastal route from Ballachulish past the famous Castle Stalker with its visitor centre and cafe,then over the Connel Bridge near Oban. Go walking in the Arrochar Alps in Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, or Cowal forest park where there are observation points for wildlife. Sail on the paddle steamer Waverley in summer months from Dunoon or Tighnabruaich. Go on a sealife cruise.
