Located in the valley with the River Deveron flowing past, the log cabins stand in a wooded section of the grounds, each separated and screened by woodland from the others. The highly desirable holiday accommodation offers a comfortable high quality base for a country holiday in Aberdeenshire, close enough to the coast for days exploring beaches and fishing harbours and within an hour’s drive of many visitor attractions; castles, distilleries and museums.
This part of Scotland teems with wildlife and is renowned for its sea life with myriads of sea birds, seals sunbathing on beaches, dolphins off the Moray coast. Visit a smoking shed for the finest fresh salmon or go fishing on the Deveron or at sea to catch your own.
Choose from three fabulous log cabins and holiday cottages for a high quality self-catering break. Situated in Inverkeithny, north east of Huntly, a high standard of accommodation keeps visitors coming back time and again.
2 bedroom log cabin with River Views
Bonnie View Lodge is a two bedroom pine lodge. This lovely lodge has a dining table for 4, a corner leather sofa around the TV and a well equipped kitchen. Outside the lodge, the generous decked area is a great place to sit out and enjoy views out over the River Deveron and the surrounding countryside.
2 Bedroom two storey Pine LodgeDeveron Lodge is a two storey holiday home with an upstairs balcony to enjoy the views. It has a certain fairytale appearance and is backed by woodland.
Upstairs is the Master bedroom which leads out onto the balcony with a bistro set. It is lovely to go out on the balcony in the morning s to hear the birds or to scan the skies at dusk for bats.
All other accommodation is on the ground floor and comprises a kitchen/dining/living area, the shower room and a utility room. Please look at the photographs to see how attractive this high quality lodge is.
The kitchen is fitted pine. There is a cooker with a full-size oven.
The shower room has a heated towel rail.
3 bedroom log cabin - perfect for familiesThe largest log cabin, Woodland Retreat, has two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom. It can accommodate six people and also has a cot. Perfect for families, the spacious interior is open-plan with a living area and kitchen with a dining table that seats six. A woodburner and colourful rug makes the living area a warm place for people to gather. Two of the bedrooms are groundfloor with a double upstairs.
The pine kitchen blends nicely with the pine walls and flooring. A full-size cooker is adequate for family holiday meals.
Outside is a large veranda or decked area with plenty of seating. It is most pleasant to sit outside and read whilst the birds chirp and all is well with the world.
All of the lodges have parking alongside them.
WiFi in the accommodation
We are not blessed with good internet through our landline and rely on mobile wifi. We use a mobile wifi device in the properties on request but cannot offer unlimited access. At the moment there is a small charge which covers usage for emails, general browsing, Facebook and limited Skype.

- The three log cabins are in a woodland setting and have views of the Deveron Valley. The views of the cottages vary but all are rural.
Swallow Cottage to sleep 4Swallow Cottage is a two bedroom country-style barn conversion. It has a spacious open-plan living area with a tiled floor and a corner woodburner, comfortable leather seating in front of the TV, separated from a smart white fitted kitchen by the dining area.
The family bathroom downstairs has a walk-in shower. The cottage has a woodburner and central heating.
Knotted pine doors and skirtings are an attractive feature throughout this cottage.
Upstairs are two bedrooms, a double and a twin. And a WC off the hallway. There are fine views of the River Deveron from the main bedroom.
Walled and enclosed back garden.
A small enclosed walled garden at the rear of the cottage has seating for those moments when you would like to rest after exploring the North east of Scotland.
Auchingoul Luxury Holiday Cottage for 4 peopleA nicely finished and presented two bedroom holiday cottage which has been finished to a high standard. A country-style door leads to the spacious hallway, off which is the open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, a twin bedroom and bathroom with shower.
Stairs lead up to a galleried area with seating, off of which is the master bedroom.The bedroom is under the eaves and has sloping ceilings which always give a room that extra character.
Outside is a courtyard garden with garden furniture, a barbecue and a few flower beds.
Auchingoul Bothy sleeps 2Auchingoul Bothy is a conversion from a former farm worker’s cottage. It has an enclosed walled garden to the rear which is a very pleasant place to sit out and enjoy a summer lunch.
Inside the cottage are olde worlde features, beams and a woodburner set in a stone fireplace. The living/kitchen area is open-plan and has a table for two, a TV and all essentials for a good self-catering break for a couple. Cooking is on a 2 ring hob plus there is a microwave. This cottage is compact but cosy and attractive.
A shower room divides the living and sleeping quarters. The bedroom has twin beds and a wardrobe.
There is a cosy woodburner and electric heating as back up.

Our guests have enjoyed the river walks on the banks of the Deveron, fishing, the abundant wildlife and flowers, the outstanding scenery. People like the whisky trails and sampling at Glendronach Distillery Tour in Forgue by Huntly and other distilleries in north east Scotland.

Recommended Places to Visit: Visitors love the character and granite cottages of north East Scotland. There are so many fascinating villages to visit such as Pennan, Crovie, Gardenstown, Portsoy and Cullen that are colourfully picturesque and feature harbours or unspoilt beaches. Comical puffins arrive in April and can be spoted on the cliffs or peering from their burrows. Each day or a holiday is a delight, exploring Aberdeenshire, stopping for lunch at a pub. For some holidaymakers, May is the best month when the gorse is in full bloom and primroses flourish on sunny banks. Other visitors love the winter months that bring snow and ski-ing to the Lecht and the Cairngorms.
