Weekend breaks

A weekend break in a self-catering rental, for example, a country cottage, holiday cottage, apartment, house or pine lodge, offers you the opportunity of taking a short holiday that is a "home from home". Short weekend cottage breaks are perfect for anyone with a young family that requires space for children to play and run around, which is not generally desirable in a hotel room.

Please click on any photographs shown to view details of weekend breaks. Short weekend and mid-week breaks are generally available in all our self-catering rentals during periods outwith school holidays and bank holidays depending on availability.

Dorset Ship Cottage

West Bay, in the middle of the spectacular UNESCO Dorset and East Devon Coast World Heritage Site known colloquially as the Jurassic Coast, is the harbour that has served the market town of Bridport for centuries. Once a busy ship building centre and fishing base it is now a very popular tourist destination, particularly following the television series Harbour Lights. It is also an ideal base to explore the many attractions of one of the few World Heritage Sites that are easily accessible to the public. Most of the West Dorset coastline is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and there are wonderful walks in many directions that start at West Bay. There are also many sporting facilities all within easy reach of Ship Cottage. For more information on the Jurassic Coast please visit www.jurassiccoast.com. Ship Cottage, right on the pebble beach at the start of the Chesil Bank that stretches 18 miles to Portland is thought to have once belonged to one of the local fishermen and used not only for accommodation but storage of nets and other fishing equipment. It has been extensively refurbished in 2006 to provide an extremely attractive and character accommodation right by the sea.
