Herefordshire The Woodhouse

The Woodhouse is a Grade II* Listed semi-moated medieval hall-house, from the first part of the C15th. It has been restored using traditional techniques and materials including Herefordshire oak, wattle and daub, lime mortar, limewash and casein paint. What remained of the original building was used to provide evidence for the restoration, which was guided by SPAB architect Andrew Thomas and executed largely by the owner, David Furnival. It was featured by the BBC on Radio 4’s Open Country and in The Observer in Feb. 2004.It is also mentioned in The National Commission for Historic Monuments, Pevsner's book on Herfordshire and The book of Ledbury by Joe Hillaby, and can be found on the Images of England website.

This elegant and spacious 12-bedroom Edwardian mansion stands in glorious grounds of around 8 acres.  Surrounded by the beautiful rolling Herefordshire countryside, it sits just 5 miles outside the cathedral city of Hereford and only 2 miles from the village of Canon Pyon with it's general store and public house.  With bright and spacious accommodation over 3 floors, the house offers 12 en-suite bedrooms, 3 reception rooms, a large dining room and a fabulous newly-installed luxury kitchen with Aga.  This, combined with the outdoor keyhole-shaped swimming pool, tennis court, gym, sauna, bar and games barn combine to make The Lodge the ultimate venue for a short - or long - break with family and friends.  Alternatively, the state-of-the-art electronic presentation screen in the dining room, wi-fi internet connection and huge oak table seating up to 24 make it the perfect venue for a corporate/team-building exercise or even a board meeting.  
The Lodge was launched onto the rental market in the summer of 2007, following an extensive 6-month refurbishment project.  The house has been updated to provide modern, stylish, bright and spacious accommodation, whilst retaining the original feel and features of the past, such as elegant fireplaces, intricate architraves and the oak-panelled dining room.  Our aim was to combine the best of the last century with the best of the present; to produce a vibrant, modern home with a traditional warm and welcoming feel.  Our guests to date agree that we have achieved just that - and with more than a touch of the Wow! factor added in. 
The walls throughout the house are painted in a warm shade of cream and the soft furnishings and carpet have been chosen in complemenatary muted tones. The overall effect is one of luxury, tranquility and calm.   Each of the 3 reception rooms is furnished with sofas in shades of cream, brown and duck-egg blue, each has a flatscreen TV, 2 have open fires and a Sky TV connection, and there are 2 TEAC CD/ipod players and a PS3 console.  The 3 rooms combine to provide seating for around 30 guests, but for those who want a moment alone, there are plenty of quiet seating areas around the house and garden.
 The Lodge is a spacious and elegant Edwardian Lodge set in 8 acres, with a swimming pool and a tennis court. Recently refurbished it now offers 12 en-suite bedrooms, 3 spacious receptions, a dining room with custom-built table to seat 24 plus a luxury kitchen with Aga and granite worktops. Herefordshire The Manor House

This beautiful 17th century Grade II listed manor house stands in grounds of around 1 acre, on the banks of the River Arrow.  It is on the Black and White Trail, and in one of Herefordshire's loveliest villages.  This warm and welcoming home manages to achieve a blend of traditional English country house style with the best of 21st century luxury and technological advancements.  The Manor House has recently been completed renovated, including refurbishment of the 7 bath/shower rooms, and installation of a fabulous spacious kitchen with cream units, granite worktops and travertine marble flooring.
The large, well-equipped kitchen contains an Aga, dining table and 8 chairs, seating area, top-of-the-range Gaggia espresso/capuccino machine, American-style side-by-side fridge/freezer with ice and chilled water dispenser, range cooker, microwave, large toaster and dishwasher.  The cupboards are well stocked with plates, glasses, cutlery, pots, pans, serving dishes, and a good selection of cookery books for inspiration!
There are 3 reception rooms -  a cosy snug/study with TV and PS2 console; sunny morning room with TV, open fire and CD music system and a large living room with inglenook fireplace, baby grand piano and 42inch flat-screen TV with cinema surround-sound and Sky Plus.  These 3 rooms combine to offer seating for around 30-40 guests, and there is plenty of choice for those who want to have a quiet corner to themselves.
The separate dining room is accessed from the kitchen and has a large contemporary, light oak dining table and 20 comfortable brown leather dining chairs.  There is a white porcelain dinner service and stainless steel cutlery set, plenty of wine and champagne glasses plus an electric 'wood burning stove' and a CD player.
The 11 bedrooms are elegantly decorated and furnished with quality bedlinens, luxury thick towels and a selection of Damana toiletries. There are 2 double rooms, 8 kings and 1 super-king.  Four of the bedrooms have an en-suite bath/shower room and there are four 4-poster beds.  We have provided 4 z-beds and 2 cots which will fit into most of the bedrooms, and which are suitable for use by children only, meaning that maximum occupancy for mixed age groups is 28.
An historic 11 bedroom house with stunning grounds of 1 acre, three living rooms, spectacular kitchen, dining room to seat 20, seven shower/bath rooms (4 en-suite), hot tub and games barn. The Granary and the Old Barn are two luxurious cottages in the idyllic and very peaceful courtyard  of our Grade 2 listed  15th century black and white farmhouse .  They have been recently converted from farm buildings and are available for a full week, weekend or mid week break. The cottages are warm and spacious and retain many lovely original features, including original doors and exposed beam whilst providing 21st century facilities, including fully fitted kitchens and bathrooms, central heating and lovely wood burning stoves. They are set on our five acre smallholding where we keep rare breed pigs and chicken and grow our own vegetables and fruit.  Visitors are welcome to explore all areas of the smallholding, and produce is available for purchase. The smallholding lies in beautiful North Herefordshire countryside, close to the Welsh Marches and Offa's Dyke. The area provides easy access to excellent walking and cycling , as well as opportunities to explore historic Herefordshire villages. The cottages are eight miles from Hay on Wye, which is internationally famous for its annual literary festival and second-hand bookshops. Ludlow is also close by, and is a mecca for antique lovers and foodies alike. The cottages are 5 miles away from The Stagg at Titley, a Michelin * pub.Both cottages sleep four guests in great comfort and also provide an ideal romantic setting for couples.  The cottages can be booked together to provide accommodation for two groups: the large sitting room in the Old Barn has a dining table that can easily accommodate eight guests. Powys The Cidermill at Boatside

The Cidermill at Boatside is a charming stonebuilt cottage situated along the stunning river Wye - ideal if you are looking for complete peace and tranquility, but with the advantage of being only 3 miles to the nearest town. Walking, fishing, bird watching and much more on offer. Inside, the decour is tateful and similar to a log cabin, offering comfortable centrally heated accommodation, comprising a double bedroom (with two single beds), shower room, kitchen and large sitting/dining room with a superb view directly onto the river! There are some excellent walks from the doorstep. The hill behind boatside has many paths going up it, as well as across it, and offers excellent views from the top. The Brecon Beacons, the Black Mountains and the hills of Drygarn Fawr beyond the Elan Valley can be seen on a clear day. From the village of Aberedw paths lead onto the hills beyond the village, where an interesting circular walk can easily be done in an afternoon, passing Llewellyn's Cave and Twm Tobaccos grave on the way. For those who enjoy mountain biking, then the same hills are accessible, with some fast and furious descents to tempt you! A helmet is advisable, and beware of nettles and gorse bushes on the tracks on the hill behind Boatside. If you need a more relaxing occupation, then the birdlife in the area is diverse. Birds of prey, waterfowl, woodpeckers and the smaller passerines abound in the vicinity of the farm, while a short walk on the hill will enable you to spot upland birds and skylarks. At the end of the day, a picnic on the river bank is a good way to relax; watch the world go by, as the swallows fly overhead and the trout rise lazily to the fly – paradise!
