Set in a rural community around the River Box and surrounded by a patchwork of fields, there are orchards of apples trees supplying a local manufacturer of high quality fresh juice. Many of the village's timber framed listed buildings go back to the 15th and 16th century. There is a fine 15th century church. There are a couple of village pubs and shops.
