Tthe area around the village is particularly popular with walkers. Weymouth, Dorchester, Abbotsbury and Bridport are all only a short drive away. Further afield lie Corfe Castle, Poole, Blandford Forum, Lyme Regis and Bournemouth.
Stonebank Annexe forms part of a Grade II listed building, which dates from the early 17th century. Situated in a quiet location near the centre of the village of Chickerell, it is set back from the road in pleasant gardens. It has two bedrooms, one twin and one double, a comfortable lounge/dining room with an electric fire, freeview colour T.V. VCR, DVD, Radio/CD player, and a choice of books and games. The kitchen has an electric cooker, refrigerator with freezer box, microwave and ample crockery etc., for 4 people. 3 miles west of Weymouth, Dorset. All linen, towels, heating & power included. Bakehouse Cottage is a luxury self-catering cottage in the village of Langton Herring, Dorset, lying between Weymouth and Abbotsbury. New cottage in 2005. It can accommodate up to 8 people in 4 bedrooms. Bakehouse Cottage is next door to St Anthony's Cottage (q.v.) and for larger parties the two properties combined offer accommodation for 14 adults plus two cots. To the rear there is a paved patio area and garden. The garden abuts one of Higher Farm's fields. Patio chairs, a table and a barbecue are all provided.

Ship Cottage, right on the pebble beach at the start of the Chesil Bank that stretches 18 miles to Portland is thought to have once belonged to one of the local fishermen and used not only for accommodation but storage of nets and other fishing equipment. It has been extensively refurbished in 2006 to provide an extremely attractive and character accommodation right by the sea.
