In August 1771 Richard Arkwright began building in Cromford. He created the world’s first successful water powered cotton spinning mill it is now a World Heritage site. Relax and walk in the Peak District. Beautiful central village cottage made of old stone (exposed) with beams, newly renovated with modern luxury facilities including a whirlpool spa bath. The cottage is situated in the centre of the village with 3 pubs, 1 restaurant, Butchers, chemist, grocers and post office/newsagent all in a minutes stroll. There is also the world famous Scarthin books which also has a vegetarian cafe.
