Derbyshire Cotterill Farm Cottages

Cotterill Farm consists of five cottages on a non-working farm in a superb but not remote central Peak District country location. Three cottages are for four persons, and the other two are equally large cottages but one (all on the ground floor and therefore particularly suitable for the less agile), sleeps three, and one sleeps only two. Despite consistent grading of 4 Stars, the owners never rest on their laurels, constantly trying to improve fitments, furnishings and services offered. (e.g. Two cottages have full Sky tv, the others freeview, and all have internet wireless broadband.) These are just examples, there are many other ways that things have been recently 'tweaked'! The cottages have exposed beams and stone-work. The cottages are 300 yards up a private drive and form part of a courtyard facing outwards over the surrounding fields and dales to give excellent views and some degree of privacy. In front of these cottages is a large grassed and garden area. There is ample area for off-road parking for all cottages. The two person cottage has a galleried bedroom overlooking the large living room, in the centre of which is a log burner standing on a stone plinth acting as a focal point It also has a five piece suite in the top quality bathroom. Five award winning stone 4 Star cottages on our non-working farm, in a glorious location overlooking dales and rolling countryside in the heart of the White Peak area of the Peak District. Buxton , Matlock, Bakewell, Ashbourne, Leek and Chatsworth House are all about 11 miles away on the edge of the Peak District at different points on the compass, confirming the owners claim to be very much in the heart of the White Peak area of the Peak District. (The White Peak is the area of rolling countryside, dales, streams and rivers limestone villages and dry-stone walls, which give the area so much character). Suffolk The Grove Cottages

Enjoy the romantic atmosphere of your own 300 year old English farm cottage. With all the lovely original features of ancient oak beams, a traditional baking oven and ‘copper kettle’, open log fires, original brick or wood floors, authentic farmhouse furniture, ducks, roses and a touch of luxury we bring alive the Romance of Rural Living. Surrounded by lovely Suffolk countryside, just 2 hours from London, our 6 very cosy cottages make up the old Grove Farm which is close to Lavenham, famous for being the prettiest medieval village in England. We are ideally situated for exploring the pretty villages of Suffolk and its coastline, or visiting London which is 50 minutes by train from the nearest mainline station. Despite being so close to London this county is very rural and until very recently rather inaccessible, this has helped preserve the lovely rural qualities and the tiny villages and hamlets that spread out across a spiders web of barely chartered byroads and country lanes. These beautiful villages are one of the great attractions for visitors to Suffolk, often beautifully preserved in all their Medieval splendour and many containing a rich history of the early pilgrims to America, in this tiny hamlet of Edwardstone the first future Govenor of Massachusetts set off to America. The grove cottages, which were formerly dairies, bakery’s and two farm workers cottages are built in a Monastic style ‘double quadrangle’, the buildings all date back to the early 17 hundreds, when they serviced a long lost Mansion House. All cottages are all totally self contained and very private, having entrances from totally different sides; they sleep from 2 to 6 people. Grove Cottages (sleep 2-6).
