Glebe Farm Holiday Cottages
Five charming cottages in the heart of the Cotswolds, two miles away from Cirencester. The location is convenient for discovering the Cotswold area of England with its yellow stone houses and wonderful countryside, and for day trips to Stratford-upon_Avon (Shakespeare country), Bath (for the old Roman baths and elegant architecture), and Oxford (dreaming spires of the university) which are all about one hour's drive away.
The interior of the cottages is traditional with oak beamed ceilings and exposed stone work. They are thoughtfully furnished with antiques and pine, and equipped to a very high standard. Some have wood burning stoves for which logs are supplied. The five cottages share a washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer and a payphone. There is also a large shared patio, barbecue and plenty of parking space. Pets are welcome.
The Garden Room is a self contained, self-catering suite for two, beautifully furnished with antiques and oil paintings. The 6' bed with goose down pillows and duvet is wonderfully luxurious. Its' own entrance through a medieval oak door ensures complete privacy. Byfield is a unique Grade II* listed house steeped in history with a wonderful Tudor Hall, Adam Plasterwork in the Drawing Room and a 16th Century Barn and Donkey Stables. It is conveniently situated in the centre of the village. Painswick is a delightfully unspoilt Cotswold stone village with several pubs and restaurants, set amidst glorious countryside renowned for its wonderful walks, woodlands, panoramic views and the Cotswold Way Footpath. Granary Cottage (sleeps 2-3) is situated at the end of a quiet country lane at the edge of the Royal Forest of Dean, in the small hamlet of Elton. The cottage was built in the late 17th Century and is set in the grounds of Upper Hall, a country farmhouse of the same period. The cottage has been converted to a high standard with all modern conveniences whilst retaining the original character of the period. The cottage has private garden with garden furniture, barbeque and ample parking for 2 cars. Bed linen , duvets, electricity and oil fired central heating are provided at no additional cost. The Stable (sleeps 3-5). Formerly used for cider-making and stabling working horses, this thoughtfully converted 200-year old detached cottage features a wealth of splendid elm timbering. Cosy and comfortable with oil-fired central heating, electricity, linen and towels provided, it is located on a quiet working farm (producing free range eggs) set well back from a single track no-through country lane. Downstairs: large, well-equipped Kitchen/Dining Room, CD/Radio and sitting area. Upstairs: spacious bed/sitting room with king-size bed, sofa, widescreen TV, Video and views across the garden to fields; a twin-bedroom with additional pullout bed; separate bathroom/WC with shower over bath. Outside: fenced-in, lawned garden lined with mixed trees; patio with garden furniture and barbecue. The village, half a mile away, has a post office shop, Chinese Takeway/Chip Shop, and pub serving meals.
