Southwell
to the west of Newark-on-Trent has two major visitor attractions on
offer; the National Trust workhouse, with audio tours, that bring to
life the miserable existence of those destitute souls forced to rely on
the workhouse, and of course Southwell Minster with its famous chapter
house and carvings.
Good outdoor places to visit
in Nottinghamshire are Newstead Abbey and its extensive
grounds, Clumber Park, Rufford Park, and Wollaton Park in
Nottingham. All have visitor
attractions, walks, toilets and restaurants.
