Surrounded by lovely Suffolk countryside, just 2 hours from London, our 6 very cosy cottages make up the old Grove Farm which is close to Lavenham, famous for being the prettiest medieval village in England. We are ideally situated for exploring the pretty villages of Suffolk and its coastline, or visiting London which is 50 minutes by train from the nearest mainline station. Despite being so close to London this county is very rural and until very recently rather inaccessible, this has helped preserve the lovely rural qualities and the tiny villages and hamlets that spread out across a spiders web of barely chartered byroads and country lanes. These beautiful villages are one of the great attractions for visitors to Suffolk, often beautifully preserved in all their Medieval splendour and many containing a rich history of the early pilgrims to America, in this tiny hamlet of Edwardstone the first future Govenor of Massachusetts set off to America. The grove cottages, which were formerly dairies, bakery’s and two farm workers cottages are built in a Monastic style ‘double quadrangle’, the buildings all date back to the early 17 hundreds, when they serviced a long lost Mansion House. All cottages are all totally self contained and very private, having entrances from totally different sides; they sleep from 2 to 6 people. Grove Cottages (sleep 2-6). Suffolk The Old Forge

The Old Forge is situated in the heart of an attractive conservation village and area of Redgrave on the borders of Norfolk and Suffolk. It is a beautiful Georgian cottage which has been sympathetically restored to a very high standard. Original period features include inglenook fireplaces, brick floors, heavily beamed and feature bread/faggot ovens. There is a 100ft established country garden to the rear, which is enclosed when the gates are shut. There is a small drive for 1 car and on street parking. Redgrave has a rich history, and former residents of the village include the 16th/17th century philosopher and statesman Francis Bacon. The Old Forge is a beautiful Georgian 2 bedroom cottage refurbished to a very high standard in Redgrave on the Suffolk/Norfolk borders. It sleeps 5 people. There is a lovely cottage garden and conservatory at the back. The cottage is fully equipped for a comfortable stay with dishwasher, Freeview TV, 2 woodburners and all other essentials for a 'home from home'. Bathroom with bath and shower.
