Peterborough, one of England's newer cities, is located to the east of the A1 in the south east Midlands. It is at the junction of three different counties: Lincolnshire lies to the north, Cambridgeshire and the low lying fens to the east, and Northamptonshire to the south west.

Peterborough has a cathedral where the first wife of Henry VIII, Katherine of Aragon lies interred. There's a reputedly haunted museum with a large dinosaur section, a good shopping centre, clubs, pubs, theatra and cinema. Lots of entertainment opportunities if you're visiting the area for business or leisure.

If you enjoy cycling, the area is fairly flat to make cycling easy and you can visit pretty villages en-route as you cycle the 80 km Green Wheel network.

Nearby towns of interest are historic Stamford where you can visit Burghley House stately home and deer park, Market Deeping for watersports at Tallington Lakes, March, Chatteris and Oundle.
