As Roundstone is located by the sea, it is home to lots of events on the water including its annual Regatta. One to catch if enjoying a cottage holiday in July, the whole village comes together during the Regatta to celebrate one of the longest-running nautical events in this part of Ireland as it dates all the way back to the 1890s. Men, women, boys and girls take to traditional sailing and rowing boats to compete in two days of racing across the beautiful Roundstone Bay, and these competitors are not only from the village or nearby areas, but sometimes from other countries throughout the world. Along with the boat races, the Roundstone Regatta holds other events and activities such as a noontime mass, dancing and traditional music to make the festival a brilliantly fun event to pop along to.
