The Drawing room is the main room in the House, adorned with paintings and antique furnishings. The gracious room is made intimate by its large roaring turf fire around which friendships are made and stories are told as visitors relax and drink tea or read a book in the evenings. One of our better known visitors was Chelsea Clinton who stayed with us during her Irish Tour. The bedrooms are all individually decorated with a combination of antiques and modern day conveniences and all have their own bathrooms.
The separate dining room has one large dining room table and service tables and leads into the cosy reading room with an open fire. The library has a writing desk and PC, hundreds of books and is also suitable for extra dining space.
The large country Kitchen is designed to cater for large numbers and has a separate utility room with extra fridge ans storage space as well as large washing and drying facilities.
The Gardens with their blend of rockeries, lily ponds and mature plants offer a calming respite after a long days sightseeing. Our outdoor heated swimming pool is open from May to September . There is also a sauna and tennis court.

The town of Clifden lies between the Atlantic Ocean and the 12 Ben Mountains. It's a friendly and lively town with plenty of places to eat from tea shops to gourmet restaurants, good Irish pubs.
The countryside of Connemara offers much of interest all year round; an abundance of wildflowers in spring, lush greenery of the summer, nodding wild cotton bogs and grasslands in the autumn, winter walks on golden sand beaches.
Clifden Town is the Capital of Connemara one of the most scenic regions in Connemara. Established in the early 1800’s at Clifden Bay, it follows the classic 19th century layout: oval in plan, with three principal streets - Market Street, Main Street and Bridge Street, a Market Square, a fine bridewell or gaol, courthouse and harbour. Clifden today is a vibrant and cultural town which has retained its historic roots while developing in services and facilities. You will find colourful streets with a great selection of small local food shops – (fishmongers, butchers, fruit and vegetable store, delicatessens and a bakery) , numerous craft and gift shops, art galleries and exhibitions and other interesting shops including antique shops, designer clothes shops, jewellery and vintage shops. In between all of these you will find a great selection of Restaurants, Cafes and Pubs. Most pubs in Clifden serve Bar food and have live music weekly. On the practical side there are three supermarkets (including Aldi and Lidl), two banks, three chemists, two petrol stations, two churches and a post office. For many, the allure of Connemara is in the ever changing scenery, the magical light, walks on the beach, turf fires, the rugged landscape, wild life and flora, the sense of history or a plate of fresh oysters and a pint of Guinness by the fire singing along to a local music session.
