Nearby lies a stretch of the upper reaches of the River Severn and the route of the Severn Valley Railway, where full size steam locomotives pull passenger trains on a route between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster.

Picturesque Bridgnorth makes a great day trip and has a wonderful hill top position climbed by a funicular railway. The town also hosts a ruined castle, and the Northgate Museum of local history. A journey into the Clee Hills is best approached via the pleasant town of Cleobury Mortimer which has a mix of Georgian and timbered buildings and a church with a twisted spire.
