Self catering holiday cottages in Warminster, Wiltshire, England
Warminster:
Warminster is an ancient market town dating from Saxon times. It sits on the edge of Salisbury Plain at the head of the Wylye Valley. The town has kept much of it's market town character and the countryside to the south is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Warminster has some excellent independent local shops which make shopping interesting - bookshops, antique shops, toy shop, a bakery, greengrocer and butchers'. There are a couple of delightful cafés and some very good pubs in the town and within easy driving distance. For children there is a swimming pool and a park with a children's play area and skateboard ramps. The boating lake, adjoining a small nature reserve and water meadows is popular with summer visitors. In the town centre is a Tourist Information office where you can find out about places to visit near Warminster.
