The nearby village of Welford on Avon, famous for its tall maypole, is useful for holidymakers because it can supply all essentials without having to go into the more busy Stratford upon Avon. There is a general store, an excellent butchers, a garage, three public houses and a golf course. The cultural centre of Stratford-upon-Avon which is just a short drive away has a fine range of restaurants, shops, leisure facilities and is the home of the world famous Royal Shakespeare Company.

At the end of the Greenway there is a number of cycling routes which also have some great pubs to stop by for a short rest or a tasty lunch. Anyone who loves the English countryside would find plenty of walks and interesting places for days out.

Welford –on-Avon is a pretty, picture postcard village, situated only about four miles from Stratford on Avon and providing an easy access for exploring the beauty of Cotswold.
