This 3 bedroom self catering cottage enjoys a magical location down a half mile sandy lane on the edge of Thorpeness in Suffolk and is located in a conservation area of outstanding natural beauty. Around about the property is stunning open Suffolk heathland and woodland, wonderful for walks and great views.
This stylish historic property is located just outside of Thorpeness and was originally part of the Ogilvie Estate which was commissioned way back in the 1870s. Special features of this property include original joinery and high ceilings which have today been combined with contemporary bright colours. Enjoy the eclectic mix of old and new furniture which now fuses together to provide stylish comfortable self catering accommodation. This cottage is owned by artists and this can be seen in the charismatic interiors and relaxed feel of this property.
We provide you with a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help get your break off to a relaxing start.
The price is inclusive of 100% cotton bed linen, towels, heating and electricity. This semi-detached cottage has oil-fired central heating in all rooms and also has a cosy wood-burning stove.

At this semi detached cottage: there’s a large open plan living space with a wood-burning stove in the centre of the room; a bathroom and a shower room/utility room, on the ground floor. On the first floor there are 3 comfortable bedrooms (two double bedrooms and 1 twin). Outside the cottage there is a lawned garden next to a whole acre of shared lawn with trees and heathland beyond.
This self catering cottage is located just outside of Thorpeness and is situated down a half mile sandy lane. You can reach the centre of Thorpeness in around 12 minutes by foot along footpaths. This is a charming holiday village largely designed by the Scottish playwright and barrister Glencairn Stuart Ogilvie a century ago, inspired by the writings of JM Barrie, author of Peter Pan.
Enjoy visiting the village's large 60 acre boating lake ‘Thorpeness Meare’ which has several miles of shallow water. Take a ride on a rowing boat. If you like to keep active, the Thorpeness Country Club has tennis courts and games rooms are often available for use during half term holidays as well as the summer months.
Sorry, no pets, no smoking or unaccompanied teenagers are allowed at this cottage.
