Just 4 miles down the river valley to the pretty Suffolk village of Clare, where the Antique Hunters congregate for the excellent auctions! Carry on down the valley and arrive at the famous Medieval Villages of Cavendish – which is host to one of the best Gastro Pubs around ‘The George’ and Long Melford – home to the TV series ‘Lovejoy’ full of antique shops and great pubs. Another 10 minutes away and you find yourself in England’s Best preserved Medieval Village of Lavenham; a real hidden treasure for days out, such as Kentwell Hall which is host to many a great Tudor re-enactment. Only 90 mins from London - it's a great weekend escape cottage.

Recommended Places to Visit: The wonderfully historic Hedingham Castle - about a 10 minute drive from the cottage - famous for its periodic re-enactments and a great pub 'The Bell'
