Somerset has so much to commend it as a holiday destination that it is difficult to know where to begin. The Quantock Hills are simply beautiful, the kind of place that has visitors reaching for the cameras and birdwatchers becoming extremely excited. A gentle ramble on a sunny day reveals hedgerows overflowing with wild flowers and tidy farms dotted here and there. The sea is another draw, especially for families - children of all ages like to paddle, dig and eat ice cream. There are masses of places to visit and Taunton Museum is high on the list for children.
