Rural setting with open farmland and river allows for interesting walks, but close by there is riding, fishing and golf. With local excellent beers and boasting the gastro pub of the year nearby means some great nights out.

Located in the small hamlet on the river Ilse, Ashford Old Farm and the Barn, allows you to either enjoy the stunning gardens, or explore the glorious countryside and numerous historic sites located nearby.

Across the neighbouring field is the River Ilse, home for otters, kingfishers, heron, wild ducks, dragonflies and fish from pike to minnow. Walks from the house can provide a huge variety in scenery, plants and wildlife.

For those who would like some activity clay pigeon shooting, riding, fishing, polo, racing and walking are all available nearby. 

The accommodation has the capacity for large groups and is ideally suited for combined family holidays / celebrations. The character rooms also allow for the comfort and snugness for a couple to, "get away from it all", retreat into the warm panelled rooms and forget the world outside.

Ashford Old Farm is a period thatched cross passage longhouse providing 5 double bedrooms and 1 single room. There are 2 bathrooms and a separate wc. This house has many stunning features; oak panelling, flagstone floors, open fires, beamed ceilings, leaded windows, grand piano, complemented with the modern conviences of full oil central heating, fitted kitchen with a gas hob and fan assisted oven, laundry room, broadband.

The Barn has 3 double and one childrens bedroom it enjoys the comforts of full central heating and both a bathroom and shower room. A stunning english oak floor with gas fired Rayburn and butlers sink are a few of the features of this impressive building. When the weather does not allow the use of the gardens, the games room and the sun room provide plenty to do. The sun room opens out onto the court yard which has a BBQ area which leads through a gate to the kennels and small animal pens.

The county town of Taunton only 14 miles away has the usual facilities included cinema, tenpin bowling etc... For supplies we can provide a hamper service or Sainsburys and Tescos will deliver on internet shopping.
