From Rayburn range to granite worktops, oak and marble flooring to Zoffany wallpapers, hand-painted indoor swimming pool to children's playground, Bon Accueil provides a perfect rendezvous in central Britain for friends or family gatherings of up to 14 (plus 2 cots) - all year round.

For smaller groups of up to 4 (plus 1 cot) who also want the luxury of a private pool we have several "Coach House Only" mid-week breaks throughout the year.

Peacefully situated in its own 5 acres of north Shropshire but only one mile from historic Whitchurch, Bon Accueil provides a great base for shopping, dining, cycling, walking, visiting Ironbridge World Heritage Site, Chester, Shrewsbury or exploring the Welsh Marches or Shropshire Lakes-all within a 30 minutes drive away. If you order a grocery delivery for delivery on the day of your arrival we will receive and unpack it for you.

For our larger parties (generally 10 or more), Bon Accueil has arranged the option of in-house catering services ranging from a super, locally sourced buffet to a superb chef service to help you select your meal then cook, serve and clean up for you. Relax, you're in Shropshire!

Two 5 star holiday cottages in traditional surroundings, Bon Accueil consists of a modernised Georgian Country House sleeping 10 (plus 2 infants in cots) and a converted Coach House with totally self-contained accommodation for an additional 4 guests (plus 1 infant in cot) which is ideal for those in larger groups who may want a little more privacy from time to time.

Both properties are joined across a courtyard by a fully air-conditioned, indoor heated swimming pool. Within the adjoining Main House paddock there is a small football field, a trampoline and , behind the Coach House, there is a great children's playground with tower, swings, jouster and slide. Normally, larger groups use both The Main House and The Coach House together at weekends and major school holidays. This means that the Coach House is available to smaller groups of up to 4 (plus 1 cot) who are free to take mid-week breaks throughout the year but who still want the luxury of having their own, private swimming pool, sauna and spa. In the case of last minute bookings taken within 2 weeks of the holiday start date The Main House (sleeps 10 plus 2 cots) may be let separately at 75% of the full rate.

The property will be available from 4:00 pm (2:00 pm for Coach House mid-week breaks). Guests will be greeted personally on arrival and briefly shown around both the property and the pool. All beds will be made including duvets and any requested cots. Fresh towels will be provided, including bathing sheets, along with a complimentary welcome pack of milk, coffee, tea, sugar, cake or biscuits and wine.

On the more practical side, a starter supply of toiletries, kitchen towel, dishwasher powder, washing powder, washing-up liquid and toilet rolls are provided and electricity, oil fired central heating and hot water is included. There is secure parking for up to 6 cars within the grounds behind electrically operated gates.

Located in north Shropshire, Bon Accueil provides an excellent base for cycling, walking, fishing, visiting Ironbridge World Heritage Site, shopping visits to nearby Chester and Shrewsbury or exploring the Welsh Marches or Shropshire Lakes - all around half an hour's drive away. Positioned on a Roman route to Chester and on a border that was fought over for many centuries, there are many sites of historical interest in the area.

Nearby Hawkstone Park is popular with both young and old, although it is admittedly for the fitter amongst us. It is made up of intricate pathways, ravines, arches and bridges and King Arthur addressing his troops in the awesome caves.

In nearby Wem we also have our very own 'Museum of Myth and Fable', Mythstories, where Shropshire's legends are brought to life. There are so many castles, gardens and Roman artifacts within easy travel distance in Shropshire, Wales and Cheshire and, for golfers, Whitchurch boasts two 18 hole courses with others at Hawkstone Park and Carden Park. If that isn't enough, then how about horse riding, hovercrafting, canoeing, flying, ballooning - all within a comfortable drive's distance.

Whitchurch

In North Shropshire, Whitchurch provides an excellent base for cycling, walking, fishing, visiting Ironbridge World Heritage Site, shopping visits to nearby Chester and Shrewsbury or exploring the Welsh Marches or Shropshire Lakes - all around half an hour's drive away.

Whitchurch is positioned on a Roman route to Chester and near a border that was fought over for many centuries, so there are many sites of historical interest in the area.   Parking in the town centre is free and there are plenty of spaces.  If you visit Victoria Park in the centre of town you will see several short walks taking you out of town and along canalside and into a nearby Country Park.

A walk to Grindly Brook Cafe is always worth it as the food there is great and you can sit and watch the canal boats in the locks. There are so many castles, gardens and Roman artifacts within easy travel distance in Shropshire, Wales and Cheshire and, for golfers, Whitchurch boasts two 18 hole courses at the MacDonald Hill Valley with others at Hawkstone Park and Carden Park. If that isn't enough, then how about horse riding, hovercrafting, canoeing, flying, ballooning - all within a comfortable drive's distance.
