Self catering holiday cottages in Bridgenorth, Shropshire, England

Bridgenorth is the last stop on the Severn Valley Railway. The town is split into two halves upper and lower which are joined by a funicular railway which is the steepest in Britain. If you are feeling energetic you can climb the seven sets of steps which at the top brings you to the Castle Gardens where you can sit and get your breath back. The Castle was blown up by the parliamentarians in the Civil War and what is left leans at a very alarming angle!

There are lots of antique and bric a brac shops to wander round and on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday there is a market selling local produce and crafts. Parking and toilets are well signposted.

Nearby there is Dudmaston Hall, a 17th century mansion with an art collection, lake and Gardens. Daniels Mill, a working water mill that has been owned by the same family for 200 years. Guided Tours for all visitors.

Ironbridge Gorge Museum is a world heritage site which includes a reconstructed Victorian Town where you can buy a pint for a penny and visit old fashioned sweet shops and candle makers.
