Hot tubs are not suitable for children and there are health consideration. Pregnant ladies should not use them, nor people with cardi ovascular disease. Alcohol and large communal hot tubs are not a good idea either. Holidaymakers are often requested to sign a disclaimer when booking a holiday home with a hot tub although there really is little need if people behave sensibly.

Relaxing in the warm massaging waters of a hot tub can be most soothing and is even a sociable activity if it is a large hot tub that can accommodate several people. Hot tubs are rather like Marmite – people either love them or hate them.
