Description: About America Lodge
America Lodge is a lovely 19th century spacious farmhouse which enjoys a secluded location by the Chater Valley in Rutland, England's smallest county. Ideal for a rural retreat break and surrounded by stunning countryside, this property has been recently graded as high 3 star self-catering accommodation. America Lodge can sleep up to 9 people across 4 bedrooms - an ideal size for families and small groups of walkers. The house is surrounded by a large garden where children can play safely. Beyond the garden are fields and a paddock where sheep, calves and other farm animals may be spotted. We can make arrangements for children to visit our nearby farm to collect eggs that our chickens have laid. Guests also have the opportunity to purchase some top quality meats from our farm to enjoy during their holiday.
This is a most pleasant and green area, suitable for walking, cycling, fishing and sightseeing. Families may wish to visit Burghley House at Stamford to view the tame herds of deer. There are so many historic market towns and pretty villages around us that you will want to return to discover more of Rutland.
With stunning views out over the Chater valley and scenes of classically beautiful English Countryside to be found all around, this is a wonderful rural retreat which enjoys a charming and secure setting with a large garden and patio area. For days out, the lovely historical market towns of Oakham, Uppingham and Stamford are close by, as is Rutland Water with its fantastic walks, excellent nature reserve and ample opportunities to enjoy water sports and angling. There are endless opportunities to enjoy great walks in the local area and many fantastic local pubs.Within America Lodge there are two comfortable sitting rooms with log fire, one of which has access to a southwest facing patio and garden area from which you can enjoy fabulous views. The large farmhouse kitchen features a dishwasher, freezer, fridge and laundry facilities. There are two double bedrooms (one of which has an en-suite bathroom), one triple room and one twin bedroom. Oil fired central heating is available for the winter months.
