A truly charming country cottage in wonderful rural surrounds. Located in the centre of the Northumberland village of Slaggyford, 4 miles from Alston in Cumbria. The Old Sunday School is a semi-detached cottage crafted from a unique conversion of a former chapel. The property can accommodate up to 6 people in 3 en-suite bedrooms: two doubles and one twin. The living accommodation includes a fitted kitchen, and a sitting room with a dining area and a character full pot bellied stove. A front patio area is supplied with garden furniture and has great countryside views. There is parking space beside the cottage for 2 cars. This is a great base for a holiday with an excellent village pub nearby and wonderful walks onto the moors leading from the doorstep. The Pennine Way passes the front gate and there are lots of places to visit within an hour's drive, including Hadrian's Wall, the Beamish Open Air Museum, Durham Cathedral and the Lake District.
Full gas underfloor central heating, additional heating from pot bellied stove in sitting room. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, refrigerator, washing machine, dishwasher, 4 x TVs with Freesat, DVD, radio. All fuel and power included in the rent. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent. Front patio area with furniture. There is private parking space for 2 cars. Two well behaved dogs are welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 1.1 miles.
