The long distance walking path 'St Oswald's Way' passes by the village on a route between the Holy Island of Lindisfarne to the North and Heavenfield near Hadrian's Wall to the south. This is just one of many byways that will take you between the Northumberland coast and the regions scenic river valleys, its rolling hills, farmland, forest and pleasant villages. The River Coquet meanders its way through the village on its way to Amble and provides excellent fishing for salmon and Trout.
