Humberside refers to an area in the North of England that can be visited for self catering holidays.  Humberside is so named after the river Humber.  Humberside was previously an official district but the area is now part of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.  The name Humberside continues to be used though to describe the area surrounding the estuary of the Humber river.  Humberside is an area popular with bird-watchers.  There is a nature reserve at the Humber estuary near Barton upon Humber with excellent bird-watching opportunities.  Other attractions which draw tourists on self catering cottage breaks include the attractive market town of Beverley and the seaside resort of Cleethorpes.  There is also a light railway with a steam train at Cleethorpes near Grimsby which may appeal to those taking family self catering breaks.
