The Forest of Dean national park is one of England’s best kept secrets.  Nestled between the River Wye and the River Severn, the Forest of Dean provides a magical setting for keen walkers, cyclists and wildlife watchers.

The Buckstone House is home to Doug and Nikki Smith and is set within three acres of gardens and grounds in the village of Staunton, just 3 miles from the Forest of Dean and near Monmouth in the beautiful Wye Valley.  The village of Staunton is located just on the edge of the Welsh Borders.  Buckstone House Coach House which was converted for self catering accommodation in 2005 also enjoys this wonderful location and overlooks the lovely garden.

The accommodation is a delightful combination of antique furniture, tasteful furnishings and the comforts of modern living and consists of two double bedrooms, two bathrooms (one en-suite), well equipped kitchen and large airy living room. The Coach House has been designed to be disabled friendly and has a stair lift, wide doors and easy access.

The Buckstone House Coach House - Staunton,

The Buckstone House Coach House has been awarded 4 stars and a gold award by Visit Britain.

Guests have the use of the owners' outdoor heated swimming pool during the summer months and their tennis court throughout the year. The Forest of Dean offers ample opportunities for activities.  Some of the best opportunities for walking and mountain biking are right on your doorstep and the Forest offers something different with the change of each season.  In May you can find bluebells carpeting the forest and in Autumn beautiful amber hues.

Just a 10 minute drive from the cottage you can find Symonds Yat Rock with magnificent views over the Wye as the river bends round in a double horseshoe shape beneath you.  Take binoculars and look out for the pair of peregrine falcons which nest nearby.

If you enjoy golfing, there are 3 golf courses all within a 15 minute drive and within around a half hours drive there are further courses including The Rolls of Monmouth.
