The town of Chipping Campden in the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire. The Cotswold Way, long distance footpath,  starts or ends in Chipping Campden depending on which end you begin at.  The town was built on the wealth generated by the medieval wool trade and controlled by members of the Arts and Crafts Movement. Most of the ancient buildings are impressive and tell their own story of that period of growth - few are small, and Chipping Campden has one of the finest Cotswold wool churches built from donations by wealthy merchants who wanted to be remembered for posterity.  The town continues to have numerous craftspeople,  fine art galleries to browse in, coffee shop and good restaurants.
