The cottage is heated using oil fired central heating, additional heating from a woodburning stove in sitting area. The kitchen is fitted with all essential appliances including an electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, refrigerator, small chest freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, plasma screen colour TV, DVD, video, CD/radio, payphone, WiFi Internet, DVDs/videos/games. All fuel and power including logs included in the rent. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent. There is private parking space for 2 cars.

Private lawned garden with patio and garden furniture. Shared lawned area with summerhouse. Two well behaved dogs welcome (to be kept on a lead whilst on premises).

Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 7 minutes' walk.

Fontmell Magna is a village in North Dorset, located between Cranborne Chase to the east and the Blackmore Vale to the west, surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Named after the chalk streamed Fontmell Brook, the village is home to thatched cottages and a local pub serving good food and ales. The historic town of Shaftesbury is 4 miles away, with its abbey, and 'Gold Hill', perhaps best known from TV’s Hovis adverts. Also within travelling distance are Sherborne with its castle and abbey, Stonehenge, Salisbury and Bath, and the picturesque Jurassic coast. The area also offers good walking.
