Kimberley cottage - BRIDPORT,

Kimberley Cottage is situated in the Dorset village of Chideock. The cottage has been recently refurbished to provide comfortable and homely holiday accomodation. The thatched part of the cottage was originally the old village forge. The walls of which were built from the stones of Chideock castle, destroyed during the English Civil War. The cottage itself comprises of 4 large double bedrooms. Situated on the first floor there are two rooms both with king size beds. On the ground floor there are a further two rooms recently renovated within the converted forge area consisting of one twin room with the other a standard double bedroom.

The lounge, with large open fireplace has seating for approximately 6 people, with television, free view, DVD player and stereo system for your use. A collection of CDs, DVD’s and books are also available for your entertainment.

There is a pretty garden to the rear and side of the property offering wonderful views of the surrounding hills, farmland and up to ‘Golden Cap’ It is possible to walk to both Seatown and Golden Cap directly from the cottage across adjoining fields. Both are approx ¾ miles. The village of Chideock has picturesque thatched cottages, a village post office, a general convenience store, a tea shop, 2 hotels and 2 churches (One with its own small museum of local interest and artifacts). The bus stop is within 100 yards and the nearest payphone is 500 yards.

Changeover Day: Saturday

There are two excellent pubs both within 5 minute walking distance with a third at Seatown ¾ mile away on the coast, all which allow children and dogs and all serving very good food. The busy market town of Bridport is 4 miles east, with its popular market stalls along the High Street on Wednesdays and Saturdays, as well as a ‘Waitrose’ store, Leisure Centre and an old fashioned Skittle Alley. To the west of Chideock are Charmouth, and then Lyme Regis, both with sandy beaches. While Charmouth is quieter, it has a café and shop as well as a small heritage centre specializing in its famous fossils. Lyme Regis is a pretty seaside town with a local cinema and many interesting shops to explore as well as the ‘Cobb’ to walk around (made famous by the film “The French Lieutenants Woman”)
