The cottage is heated using oil fired central heating, additional heating from a woodburner in the sitting room. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, colour TV with Freeview, DVD player, books and games. Fuel, power and fuel for woodburner included in the rent. Bed linen is included in the rent. There is private parking space for 3 cars. Enclosed lawned garden with furniture. Two well-behaved dogs welcome (ground floor only). Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 1 mile. Please Note: Cottage is accessed via a half-mile gravelled track. Please Note: A338 is about 300 yards through the trees. Please Note: The Olympic weeks (28th July to 11th August 2012) are charged at £977.00 per week (inclusive of £35 booking fee). Dorset has many rural areas to discover as well as a fascinating coastline.  Visit one of the National Trust's attractions such as Clouds Hill or Corfe Castle.  You may also want to take a walk to see the Cerne Giant, said to be Britain's biggest chalk hill figure.  For more countryside, there are a number of country parks including Durlston country park which has won a green flag award, indicating that this park is one of the best green spaces in England.

Avon Heath Country Park is a lovely expanse of heathland and heather landscapes, home to plenty of wildlife including deer. The park is 2 miles from Ringwood in Dorset, and is within easy reach of Bournemouth and the New Forest. Inside the park are a choice of walking and cycling trails, a childrens’ play area, and a visitor centre with café.
