The cottages

The Farmhouse, 4 bedrooms - sleeps 7-9   Attractive Victorian house with spacious farmhouse kitchen, fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Spacious living room with woodburner. One bedroom with double bed on the ground floor; bathroom with shower and wc. Upstairs, three further bedrooms; one double and two with two single beds. Family bathroom. Lovely views from the windows. Private walled terrace outside front of the house.

Lake View Cottage, 3 bedrooms - sleeps 7-9   16th century cottage with original cruck beams. Spacious living room with woodburner. Lovely farmhouse kitchen, fully equipped including dishwasher. Lobby area with washing machine and dryer. Downstairs wc. Upstairs to three bedrooms each with ensuite bathroom. One double bedroom, one with two singles and one family room with a double, a single and bunk beds. Lovely views from all rooms. Walled garden outside front of the cottage.

The Farmhouse and Lake View Cottage are adjoining with a connecting door and may be combined to accommodate groups of between 14 and 18 people.

Willow Tree, 3 bedrooms - sleeps up to 6  This cottage is all on one level with excellent accessibliity for all.  Open plan kitchen and dining area fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine and dryer.  Spacious living room with glazed doors to a large decking area with garden furniture.  Master bedroom with either a double or two singles, ensuite bathroom with level access shower.  Bedroom with two single beds.  Bedreoom with either a double or two singles.  Family bathroom with bath and shower.

If there are more than 6 in your group, we offer a discounted tariff if you book Willow together with one or two of our smaller cottages.  Willow has  a spacious lounge and dining table to seat 8-10.

Willow offers accommodaiton and facilities under the National Accessible Scheme for Mobility levels M1, M2 and M3A, Hearing Impairment level 2 and Visual Impairment level 1.

The Stable Lodges Each with one bedroom - each sleeps up 2 plus sofabed

Cottages are on two levels, converted from attractive barns. Bedroom is on the ground floor with the living area upstairs to take advantage of the fabulous view across the Valley. Stable Lodge One has two single beds and there is a sofabed in the living room. Stable Lodge Two has a double bed and there is a sofabed in the living room. Both with ensuite bathroom with wc and shower.

The Hayloft, 1 bedoom - sleeps up to 2

Delightful open plan studio. Spacious living, dining, kitchen and bedroom area. Ensuite bathroom with over the bath shower and wc. The Hayloft has its own terrace.

West Pitt is perfectly positioned to explore the glorious coasts and countryside of Devon and Somerset and the moorland of Dartmoor and Exmoor; yet readily accessible from rail and road routes to the South West. Perfect for walking holidays, fishing, bird watching or simply a relaxing break. Many local historic houses, castles and gardens, inlcuding some fine National Trust properties such as Killerton House, Castle Drogo, Knightshayes Court, Powderham Castle. Other attractions are Bicton Park, Escot Maze, Buckfast Abbey, Crealy Adventure Park, Quad World, Diggerland, plus steam railways in Somerset and Devon.

Tiverton

Tiverton is just 10 minutes' drive from West Pitt Farm and offers a range of shops, markets and cafes and restuarants.   It is in the heart of rural Devon where two rivers, The Exe and Lowman meet and was once a thriving centre for the woollen industry.

Tiverton has a town trial, castle and museum to visit.  There are excellent market days where local produce and products can be found.  Heathcoat's textile factory which has been in operation since 1816 has a factory shop open to the public where a wide range of lovely fabrics can be purchased.

The Grand Western Canal is well worth a visit for canal walks or a horse drawn barge trip.  Cycle hire is available too.  There is fishing, bird watching and the Devon Badger Watch locally.  At Knightshayes Court, a fine Vicgtorian house which is now a National Trust property, there are formal and woodland gardens, a kitchen garden and lots of events throughout the year for all the family to enjoy.
