The popular city of Plymouth has a wonderful mix of maritime heritage and natural beauty. The city is surrounded by the breathtaking Dartmoor National Park, the beautiful South Hams countryside and gorgeous South Devon coast. There is something for everyone to enjoy in and around the city. Many shops, restaurants and galleries line the wonderful narrow streets. There are also many shops at the recently opened city centre shopping mall. A walk up the Hoe with stunning views across the harbour and a walk down to the delightful Barbican quayside are essential. Other attractions that are worth visiting are the Plymouth Gin Distillery, the National Marine Aquarium, watching a show at the splendid Theatre Royal, lovely boat trips around the Sound and Naval dockyards and watersports at the Mountbatten Centre. Plymouth and the surrounding area will suit all tastes at any time of the year.
