Holiday lets in Parkham Ash, Devon, England

Parkham Ash is a tiny rural community in Devon.  All country lanes and farm buildings, this is an idyllic place for a country cottage holiday.  Escape to a rural retreat or farm-stay nestled in the greenery of the West Country where you are more likely to see deer and foxes rather than people.  Benefiting from a rural location yet just a few miles from the coast, with a cottage break in this corner of Devon you can experience the best of both worlds. 

Conveniently, the town of Bideford is a short easy drive away, meaning that you have easy access to all the facilities of the town including shopping facilities as and when you need them on you self-catering holiday.  By the coast there are plenty of good walks as well as numerous beaches to discover.  There are two beaches at the nearby picturesque village of Clovelly, both with pebbles.  Clovelly with its colourful cottages, gift shops and cliffs comes highly recommended for a family or romantic day out.  For golden sands head for Bude Beach which is around half an hour away by car but well worth the journey.  

Much of the coastline along this area of Devon is protected by the National Trust.  Bideford Bay and Hartland is an area protected by the National Trust where you can find hidden valleys, bays, cliffs as well as woodlands.  Similarly Woolacombe, Mortehoe and Ilfracombe are cared for by the National Trust and home to some wonderful cliffs and beaches.  This can be excellent walking country, and a great place to walk the dog if you are taking your pet away on holiday with you.

If after all that time by the coast you long for some countryside then you can spend time at your country hideaway or take a day trip to Exmoor National Park where you can find walks and wildlife galore.  Dartmoor National Park is also within reach for day trips.
